Last Sunday, we hosted Module 5 of our Becoming More Self-Sufficient workshop series. This session focused on preserving the harvest, alongside discussions on seed saving and planting winter vegetables.
As we near the end of our workshop series, with just one class to go, it’s rewarding to see participants gaining confidence in these essential skills.
The week brought us warm and steady temperatures—perfect for ripening tomatoes, capsicums, and pumpkins, while also helping our zucchini and cucumbers produce just that little bit longer.
Every extra day of growth means more fresh produce to enjoy and preserve.
Speaking of preserving, it has become a daily task in our kitchen. Whether it’s bottling, dehydrating, or freezing, we’re working to make the most of what the season gives us. With homeschooling, preparing orders, and keeping the garden going in this ongoing dry weather, it’s a busy time—but one that brings a deep sense of satisfaction.
